CABALLO Varieties

CABALLO was released by North Carolina Agricultural Research Service. It is a hulless winter oat variety that has high test weight. It is susceptible to crown rust. It is marketed by Royster-Clark. Caballo is three days earlier than Brooks and shorter then most other oat varieties. Depending upon the growing environment, threshed seed lots of Caballo may contain over 50% hulled grains.
