COLONY Varieties

COLONY switchgrass was developed as an improved cultivar for biomass purposes. It incorporates the indigenous germplasm that occurs across the Southeast, has acceptable dry matter production but with improved cellulose concentrations. Two cycles of recurrent selection were used to produce this cultivar. It originated from 11 different germplasm sources of the lowland form of switchgrass. Variety Producers
