FLORIDA RADIANCE Varieties

FLORIDA RADIANCE This Florida strawberry is a short day cultivar. It originated from a cross of Winter Dawn and FL99-35. It has an open-plant habit with fruit that are attached to long pedicels. It has slightly larger fruit than Strawberry Festival (22g compared to 20g). Fruit are mostly medium conic with slightly sunken achenes, giving the fruit a smooth appearance. Fruit are glossy bright to dark red. Calyx is generally medium to large in size. Fruit are firm and juicy. Yields are similar to Strawberry Festival. It has moderate resistance to Botrytis fruit rot and anthracnose fruit rot. It is susceptible to crown rots caused by Colletotrichum gleosporiodes or Phythophora spp. Variety Producers
