NC-CAPE FEAR Varieties

NC-CAPE FEAR has erect, recurved flag leaves, yellow anther color, mid-dense heads. Its head is apically awnletted and heads 3 days earlier than McCormick and the same as 26R61. Plant height is the same as McCormick. It has resistance to powdery mildew and leaf rust and intermediate resistance to scab, barley yellow dwarf virus, and soil-borne mosaic virus. It has resistance to the ‘L’ biotype of Hessian fly. US PROTECTED VARIETY and can be sold only as a Class of Certified Seed – 1994 PVPA. Variety Producers
