NC 72 Varieties

NC 72 is an F1 hybrid developed by North Carolina State University. It has excellent resistance to black shank and root-knot nematodes, but low resistance to Granville wilt. Yield, grade index, value per acre, plant height, and leaf spacing on the stalk were greater for NC 72 than for K 326. A limited seed supply (similar to NC 71 in 1997) will be available through Gold Leaf Seed Company, Hartsville, SC and RG Seed Company, Oxford, NC. US PROTECTED VARIETY and can be sold only as a Class of Certified Seed -
1994 PVPA.
