PRICE Varieties

PRICE was released by Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and Virginia Agricultural Experiment Station. It is a medium maturity, short awned, six row winter barley. Flag leaf is upright. Maturity is three days later and average plant height (34 inches) is two inches taller than Callao. Straw strength and test weight are rated very good. It is resistant to powdery mildew and barley yellow dwarf. It is moderately resistant to leaf rust. US PROTECTED VARIETY and can be sold only as a Class of Certified Seed – 1994 PVPA.
