RALEIGH Varieties

RALEIGH St. Augustinegrass was released by the North Carolina Agricultural Research Service in 1980. It has good cold-hardiness and is highly resistant to St. Augustine Decline (a virus disease). Raleigh is tolerant of moderate to heavy shade. It is a vigorous medium green plant with medium internode length and diameter, moderately long leaf of narrow width. Raleigh is moderately susceptible to chinch bugs, powdery mildew and gray leafspot. Variety Producers
