SAPPHIRE™ Varieties

SAPPHIRE™ St. Augustinegrass was released by Sod Solutions, Inc., developed by an Australian turfgrass breeder Todd Layt. It has a fast growth habit, blue-green color, purple stolon color and long leaf blade that is highly infolded giving the appearance of a finer texture. Internode length is 48.6 mm, has a leaf width of 6.4 mm, and a leaf length of 20.2 mm. Internode color is brown with predominant yellow-green. US PLANT PATENT PENDING. Variety Producers
