SS 76-40 Varieties

SS 76-40 is a late maturity oat variety exclusively marketed by Southern States Cooperative, Inc (experimental variety NC97-8885), released in 2005. Plant height is shorter than ‘Brooks’. Flag leaf droops at boot growth stage. Lodging is less than Brooks or Rodgers. SS 76-40 has superior test weight and more tolerance to freezing temperatures when compared to Brooks. SS 76-40 has greater resistance to barley yellow dwarf virus in comparison with Brooks. No Registered class. US VARIETY PROTECTION APPLIED FOR and can be sold only as a class of certified seed - 1994 PVPA. Variety Producers
