LOBO Varieties

LOBO™ was released by North Carolina State University turf breeding program and licensed by Sod Solution Inc. It is a medium-fine textured zoysiagrass with medium-dark green color, good uniformity and high density. The cultivar has aggressive lateral growth, which allows it to establish quickly. However, in terms of vertical growth, the cultivar maintains a low canopy height under low-mow conditions. Its high density allows the cultivar to outcompete weeds well. Lobo™ has low fertility and produces very few seed heads, which increases its aesthetic value. Lobo™ demonstrates a wide range of adaptability having been tested across NC and in GA, FL, IN, OK, TX, VA, SC, NM, UT, CA and AZ. Licensing is required US PLANT PATENT pending and will only be able to be sold as a Certified Class of Sod. Variety Producers
